Conner Prairie, Ritz Charles Plan New Event Venue

Conner Prairie is partnering with Ritz Charles in a $3 million project which includes an event venue on the White River: Report

FISHERS, IN -- Conner Prairie announced Thursday that it's teaming with the Carmel hospitality company Ritz Charles on a multi-million dollar project that will renovate the Fishers interactive history park's Chinese House and add a pavillion. Renovations on the Chinese House have been happening for more than a year, Indianapolis Business Journal reports, but the most recent work in the $3 million project is a hospitality pavilion called the Bluffs at Conner Prairie, along the White River.

According to IBJ, Conner Prairie officials said the "stunning venue" will fit 250 people and will be available for events including weddings, receptions, meetings, parties and more.

Design plans for the Bluffs at Conner Prairie, which is being mostly funded by Ritz Charles, include glass enclosures on three sides for views of the river and woods.

Conner Prairie officials say work on the project is expected to be near completion by Jan. 31, 2019.

IBJ reports that Ritz Charles will have operating rights to provide food and beverage services at the new venue and the Chinese House, in addition to paying rent for the new event facility which will go toward museum programming.
