FISHERS, IN — A Fishers family is wishing everyone a Merry Christmas in their own special way - a Christmas light show at their Sedona Woods home. Every night through Dec. 31, the outside of Lindsey Nickrand's house is lit up with colorful Christmas lights, each light illuminating to the music of popular Christmas songs. Nickrand, her husband and their two children were excited to share their light show with Patch, including the process and dedication it takes to bring some Christmas cheer to the area.

They've been doing this for neighbors and those who drive by for three years, Nickrand said, and although it takes longer to set up than your typical light-hanging tasks, it's worth it.

"The programming of the light show takes the most amount of time," Nickrand said. "Every light strand that you see turn off and on is run by the light program Light-O-Rama."

Nickrand said her husband has a computer program that he uses which "tells" each strand what to do for every second of every song.

"We usually begin song selection and programming in July," Nickrand says. "The actual set up takes over a week."

In an effort to get everything set up before the temperature drops, Nickrand says the family begins putting lights on their house in late October or early February, and that their two children love to help with "as much of the process as they can."

It's not just the family's love for Christmas and spreading joy during the season that keeps them putting up their light show year after year, but also something else.

"Our neighbors have loved the show and many ask if it will return when we see them around the neighborhood," Nickrand said.

See the show for yourself by taking a trip the outside of the Nickrand home at 11195 Catalina Drive, where there's a sign telling you to set your car radio to 89.9, and from there just watch the songs sync up to the light show.

The show runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. weeknights and 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekends through Dec. 31.
