Fishers Nickel Plate Trail Master Plan Unveiled
The City is looking for resident input on the master plan draft through March 2019.
FISHERS, IN — The City of Fishers has unveiled the community's master plan for the Nickel Plate Trail. Last fall, the Nickel Plate Trail Master Planning Committee encouraged the community to share what they would like to see on the trail, according to the City.
In the city's quest to turn the Nickel Plate railway into a new public space "by the community," a master plan was created thanks to ideas and suggestions shared in through online suggestion box, community events, activities and think tanks, and local schools.
What's next? The City said it wants resident input on the master plan draft through March, as construction is expected to begin on the Nickel Plate Trail in Fall 2019. According to the City, the first phase of construction will include downtown Fishers from 106th Street to 126th Street, with a pedestrian tunnel under 116th Street.
