Indiana Abortion Law Signed By Mike Pence Ruled Unconstitutional
Indiana abortion law signed by Mike Pence when he was state's governor has been ruled unconstitutional by a federal appeals court: Report

ACROSS INDIANA -- An Indiana abortion law signed by Vice President Mike Pence when he was the state's governor was ruled unconstitutional Thursday by a federal appeals court, CNN reports. The law put in place restrictions on a woman's ability to seek an abortion, including pregnancies when the baby would be born with a disability, CNN reports. The March 2016 legislation, House Enrolled Act 1337, came into place when Indiana already had some of the country's most restrictive abortion laws, CNN says.
Judge William Bauer and the 7th US Circuit Court of Appeals made the decision, with Bauer writing that provisions in the law that prevent women from seeking abortions in certain cases "clearly violate" what he described as "well-established Supreme Court precedent, and are therefore, unconstitutional."
CNN reports the case was brought by Planned Parenthood of Indiana and Kentucky against the commissioner of the Indiana State Department of Health.
