Indiana Weather And Police Officials Prepare For Tornado Drill

What to expect during Indiana's Statewide Tornado Drill on March 20: Details

ACROSS INDIANA -- It's Severe Weather Preparedness Week. As part of this, the National Weather Service is coordinating with other organizations to do a statewide test of communication systems, including a tornado drill throughout the state at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, Hamilton County Sheriff's Office officials report. During this time, the NWS will send a warning message over NOAA weather radios and Emergency Management Agencies will set off outdoor warning sirens.

The drill will be postponed until Wednesday, March 21 if there are unfavorable weather conditions, sheriff's office officials say.

According to officials, there will be no even drill unlike years past.
