Purse Lost By Clark County Student During 1950s Being Returned

According to report, the purse lost by student in the 1950s was found by workers while they were doing construction for a new school.

CLARK COUNTY, IN — A student who graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955 will soon have her purse and its contents returned to her after she lost it more than six decades ago. According to Yahoo Lifestyle, the purse was discovered perfectly intact during the building's recent demolition. In a statement shared with the news website, Erin Bojorquez, public information officer with Greater Clark County Schools, said the purse belonged to a woman in her early 80s named Martha Ina Ingham, who now lives in Florida.

The purse was saved like a time capsule and contained a note from a friend and a note containing an invitation to prom, lipstick, a pin, a track-and-field ribbon, a bus schedule, Jefferson High School basketball schedule and Ingham's ID cards, found by the workers while they were doing construction for a new elementary school.

The school district posted photos of the purse on Facebook (see below) hoping to find Ingham. According to Yahoo Lifestyle, Borjorquez reported that someone saw the post, forwarded it to Ingham's youngest son, and he gave the news to his mom. Bojorquez said she was also in touch with one of Ingham’s daughters and planned to mail Ingham's purse and the other items back this week.
