Scotty's Brewhouse Files For Bankruptcy; Closing 4 Indiana Spots
The four locations closing by the end of the year include downtown Indianapolis. More details below.

CENTRAL INDIANA — Scotty's Brewhouse and Thr3e Wisemen Brewing Company plan to shut down several locations by the end of this year as the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Dec. 11, Inside INdiana Business reported according to court documents. According to the news report, the company cited one of the factors in this decision was the challenges of some of the locations. Three of the four closing locations are in Indiana, including the company's first Scotty's location in Muncie, which opened in 1996, Inside INdiana Business said.
In addition to Muncie's location, the other closing spots include those in downtown Indianapolis, Carmel, and Waco, Texas.
According to a news release obtained by Inside INdiana Business, Scotty's Brewhouse Brand President Chris Martin said, "The process we have initiated today will allow us the opportunity to emerge stronger and better position the Company for growth. We will close locations that are not profitable by the end of this year. Additionally, the company moving forward will focus its efforts on growing the brand through franchising as well as management agreements. These actions will allow us to provide better service to our guests and strategically expand with new locations in the future.”
