$10K Reward Offered In Alex Anaya Case On 13th Anniversary

The body of 13-year-old Alex Anaya of Hammond was found floating in the Little Calumet River three days after she went missing in 2005.

HAMMOND, IN - The FBI has offered up a $10,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in the case of Alexandra Anaya, a 13-year-old girl who went missing from her home in Hammond 13 years ago today. Anaya's torso was found floating in the Little Calumet River in Chicago by a group of boaters on Aug. 16, 2005, three days after she was reported missing.

“We believe Alex knew her assailant and her death was not a random act of violence,” said Jeffrey Sallet, special agent in-charge of the FBI's Chicago field office. “We are confident there is someone out there who knows what happened to Alex."

The FBI began working the Anaya case in 2016 after through investigations into her disappearance by both the Hammond and Chicago police departments.
