    • Ability to use various hand tools
    • Basic knowledge of instrumentation
    • Knowledge of plant procedures and systems
    • Knowledge of ground maintenance
    • Knowledge of handling leaks involving dangerous chemicals
    • Knowledge of electricity and safety measures to be followed
    • Knowledge of electrical motors, pumps, boilers and their maintenance and repair
    • Knowledge of the uses and reactions of various chemicals
    • Must possess the ability to read a variety of gauges and record readings
    • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

    Incumbent must be able to perform all duties. Incumbent receives detailed instructions at the onset of assuming the position. General instructions are received daily. Work is performed under moderate supervision. Problems are reported to the supervisor. Incumbent may have to attend various workshops and/or classes as required.

    • Holds responsibility of securing premises of trespassers
    • Checks plant for leaks spills and electrical fires
    • Informs foreman or supervisor of major repairs needed
    • Performs daily procedure directly under foreman’s supervision
    • Analyzes electrical problems and performs minor repairs
    • Thorough knowledge of various welding and pipe threading procedures
    • Performs daily preventive maintenance rounds as directed – thoroughly checking the equipment for proper operation
    • Performs daily inspection of all pumps and motors in Plant #1 and #2, intake well, reclaim basin, and sewage lift station
    • Assists in receiving shipments and chemicals
    • Assists in transferring chemicals to Plant #2
    • Assists in changing chemical tanks
    • Cleans sludge from reclaim basin every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
    • Cleans settling basins in Plant #1 bi-annually
    • May assist any operator when necessary
    • Cleans and maintains traveling screen as necessary
    • erforms related duties as required

    Physical Demands, Work Environment and Personal Work Relationships:
    Involves extensive walking, climbing and lifting. Incumbent performs various duties outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Incumbent is also exposed to dirt, grease, and various chemicals and must practice proper safety precautions at all times. Work relationships are with co-workers and supervisor for the purpose of receiving reports of needed repairs and job assignments.

    Position will be posted internally from January 12, 2021 thru January 19, 2021. If the position is not filled internally, it will be held open for external applications an additional ten (10) days. The position will remain posted until filled or no more than ten days.
