Job Title: Janitor – Filtration Plant

Salary: $19.86 per hour full time

  • Ability to use various hand tools
  • Knowledge of grounds maintenance
  • Knowledge of methods, practices, tools and materials required for the proper care and maintenance of windows, walls and floors
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Job Responsibilities

  Incumbent receives detailed instructions at the onset of assuming the position. General instructions are received daily. Work is performed under moderate supervision. Problems are to be reported to supervisor. Incumbent must perform all duties:

• Holds responsibility of securing premises of trespassers
• Informs foreman or supervisor of major repairs needed
• Checks plant for leaks, spills and electrical fires
• Assists when necessary in receiving shipments of chemicals
• Assists when necessary in changing chlorine tanks
• Assists when necessary in transferring chemicals to Plant #2
• Assists when necessary in cleaning settling basin in Plant #1 (bi-annually)
• May assist skilled tradesperson on job requiring labor assistance
• When necessary cuts grass, shovels snow and maintains outdoor appearance
• Sweeps, mops, waxes floors, and maintains general indoor appearance
• Performs related duties as required

Position will be posted internally from July 27, 2020 thru July 31, 2020. If the position is not filled internally, it will be held open for external applications an additional ten (10) days. The position will remain posted until filled or no more than ten days.
