Yard Waste Pickup In Hammond Begins April 26

On April 26, 2021 (weather permitting), Hammond Public Works will begin curbside pickup of 30-gallon paper, biodegradable yard waste bags on a regular weekly basis. Residents can expect their yard waste pickup on the same day as their scheduled garbage pickup days.

The bags must not weigh more than 50 lbs. and only grass and leaves can be placed in the yard waste bags. Bags containing other material such as paper, plastic, or dirt will not be picked up.

Paper waste bags should be placed at the curb the night before the scheduled pickup day.

Yard waste pickup will continue until the week of November 29, 2021.
