Late IL Senator's Husband Charged In Hobart Attorney's Death

Authorities reported William "Bill" Landske has been charged in Hobart attorney's shooting death.

CROWN POINT, IN — A Cedar Lake man has been charged with murder in the Wednesday' shooting death of a prominent Hobart attorney. The Times reported William "Bill" Landske, 83, was charged Friday in Lake Criminal Court in the shooting of T. Edward Page, who was trying to put Landske in adult private services before he was fatally shot outside his home, according to court documents. Landske is the husband of deceased Illinois Sen. Sue Landske.

According to court records Landske told police he shot Page, a former magistrate judge, because he was angry with the local attorney's work on his late wife's taxes, The Times reported, telling police that seeing the documents (Wednesday) sent him "over the deep end."

The Times reported Landske said the shooting was a "spur of the moment thing," admitting he knew the shots were likely fatal, according to court records, which also say Landske was not afforded bond.
