INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Though it might not feel like it, spring has arrived and many adoptable pets are looking to get outside and into a new home. Indianapolis Animal Care Services has announced an adoption special through April 30, saying all adoptions are just $1 through that date. But that's not all, adoptions include spay or neuter, microchip, vaccinations and heart worm or FIV/FeLV testing.

IACS says they're "overflowing" with pets as they're sheltering nearly 600, with more than 130 of those arriving since Friday. 323 of those pets are dogs and only 24 have found new homes, IACS says.

IACS is located at 2600 South Harding Street and is open Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. They are closed on Wednesday.
