Indiana State Fair Ends Aug. 20: Enjoy Free Concerts, Pig Races, Fantastic Food

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The 2017 Indiana State Fair runs through Sunday, and there are still plenty of fun and food to be had during this year's "Wonderful World of Food." This year's fair theme highlights one of the best parts of any fair — the food. The Indiana State Fair celebrates the Wonderful World of Food through Aug. 20 at the fairgrounds, focusing on those who play a role in our state's contribution to our world's food supply.
Whether you grow, sell, cook or simply eat food, this year's theme is for you, highlighted through several vendors and attractions, including:

The fairgrounds is located on the Corner of E. 38th St. and Fall Creek Parkway. According to the Indiana State Fair website, gates open at 8 a.m. seven days a week and will remain open until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Vendor hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day and Midway hours are 12 p.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Head to indianastatefair.com to see the 2017 fair's schedule of Promotional Days and Deals, including $2 Tuesdays. Those who "Pedal and Park" by using one of the secure bike racks on the Monon Trail at 38th St. will save $1 off fair admission at Gate 18.
Parking:
There are plenty of $5 parking options, or and cheaper ways to get to the fair gates thanks to $1.75 IndyGo rides. All parking information and options can be found at indianastatefair.com. New this year:
Fair folks can visit the American Museum of Natural History's Our Global Kitchen: Food, Nature, Culture exhibition where artifacts, models, digital interactive fun and more will help visitors explore our interactions with food, according to the fair's website. New fair entertainment also includes the Subaru Skyride, World Championship Ice Cream Eating Contest, racing pigs and a special visit from the World Famous Budweiser Clydesdale horses Aug. 16 through Aug. 20 in the MetroPCS Family Fun Park.

Live Entertainment:
Pattie Labelle, Kiefer Sutherland and more will perform as part of 17 free concerts on the Chevrolet Silverado Free Stage. Livestock competitions and shows will fill the Indiana Farmers Coliseum, and rodeos, derbies, Monster Truck Madness and more will at the Hoosier Lottery Grandstand.
