Fall is here and Halloween is right around the corner with plenty of festive fun to be had all month long. Below is a list of some the best local pumpkin patches, orchards and events to check out this fall season, and there's something for everyone.
The locations and events below are open at different times and offer a wide variety of family-friendly activities that are worth checking out. - Fishers October Farmers' Market: The new October Farmers' Market will take place every Saturday in October from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. both inside the Holland Park building and outside in the parking lot at 1 Park Drive, event organizers said. The Market will feature fall farm produce and seasonal products. More, including vendor registration information: playfishers.com
- Boo Bash: Friday, Oct. 26, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Children of all ages are invited to Boo Bash presented by Johnson Jensen LLP on the Central Green. This year's event includes over 50 vendor booths for safe trick or treating, giveaways, live entertainment, and more. There will be a Sensory Friendly Hour from 4 p.m to 5 p.m. for children with special needs. Parent supervision is required for Boo Bash, but registration is not.
- Barrels & Brews: Friday, Oct. 19, 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; Enjoy this fun and free date night or evening with your significant other or friends as you sip on barrel-aged beer and explore the Historic Ambassador House & Heritage Gardens at this social hour for adults ages 21 and older. Take in the natural beauty of the gardens while enjoying live music, small bites, and a selection of bourbon barrel-aged beer from Scarlet Lane Brewing Company at the cash bar. - Headless Horseman: Oct. 11 to Oct. 28, with gates open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and activities and hayrides may run later, weekly on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Conner Prairie, 13400 Allisonville Road. >> Tickets and more info.
- ZooBoo: 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays through Sundays through Oct. 28; Little ones can wear their costumes and enjoy treat stations, allergy-friendly treats, Pumpkin Town presented by Macy's, Broomstick Allet, Round-Go-Merry, and more.
