Fishers Man, Group, Push For Ban On Holding Phone While Driving
Illinois is the only Midwest state with a law for this ban.

ACROSS INDIANA - A group with a Fishers man at the forefront is working to get Indiana on the list of states who have passed a law for the ban of hand-held phone use while driving. WISH reported Joe Locke and the group Hands Free Indiana are approaching lawmakers to consider banning drivers from hand-held phone use in the state.
Right now Illinois is the only Midwest state with the ban on the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's list of 16 states and Washington D.C., who've already passed a law for this.
WISH reported Locke went out along streets in Fishers several times this month to count the number of cars passing and the number of drivers who were seen using a mobile device. According to WISH, Locke did the math and found that while on Brooks School Road for 30 minutes, he counted one distracted driver every 50 seconds, and one distracted driver every 15 seconds while spending 30 minutes on 126th Street.
