Former Colts Player Vontae Davis Quits NFL During Halftime Sunday
Bill's cornerback, former Colts player Vontae Davis shocks league, fans as he quits NFL at halftime during Sunday's game vs. Chargers

Buffalo Bills cornerback and former Indianapolis Colt Vontae Davis decided a decade of playing in the NFL was enough for him halfway through Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Chargers. Davis suddenly retired during halftime, saying in a statement (below) he doesn't want to keep sacrificing during a season that's "too long," though he didn't mean any disrespect to his coaches and teammates.
In Davis' statement released Sunday, the NFL veteran said it's more important for him and his family that he "walk away healthy than to wilfully embrace the warrior mentally and limp away too late."
ESPN reported Bills coach Sean McDermott said Davis took himself out of Sunday's game and communicated to coaches that he was done, and Bills linebacker Lorenzo Alexander alerted reporters post-game to what happened at halftime.

Davis, 30, was given a chance to re-start his career thanks to the Bills, who signed him to a one-year contract in March after he was cut in November by the Colts following an argument with former Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano.
The Bills ended up losing 31-20 to the LA Chargers.
