Funtopia Looks To Bring Indoor Adventure Parks to Indianapolis

Funtopia, a unique, interactive experience with climbing walls, rope courses, giant slides and more for kids; team building for adults.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Funtopia, an indoor adventure park full of places to jump, climb, explore and more, could soon come to Indianapolis, company officials say. The kid-centered indoor entertainment concept has 10 worldwide locations, with three currently in the U.S., as the company says plans call for opening four to five adventure parks throughout the Indianapolis area over the next several years. The company says they've been expanding Funtopia locations in the last few years due to its appeal of combining fun and sports under one roof for kids of all ages.

Adults young and old won't be left out, as the company says anyone interested in corporate team building events, including climbing walls, rope courses, drop slides, free falls and simulated cave exhibitions, will be able to also have some fun.

“Our philosophy is to offer a variety of physically and mentally engaging activities that are appealing to both children and adults,” said Yassen Nikolov, General Manager of Funtopia North America, in a release sent to Patch. “For such reasons, Funtopia has become a place of choice for families, birthday party celebrations, school field trips, charity events and all kinds of group outings. With challenges designed for visitors of all ages, we look forward to becoming the family spot of choice in the area.”

Funtopia is also a place which encourages social interactions, the company says.

“We strongly believe that overcoming challenges and obstacles together in a family friendly environment helps in building friendships and developing a sense of camaraderie,” Nikolov said.

So how much would the investment be for a standard size center? The company says the projected investment is $629,674 to $758,216, but a large sized center (with a restaurant) would be $1,088,093 to $1,335,974.

Nikolov adds, “Our features are interactive, so instead of just climbing a wall, you are climbing up a beanstalk or a fire station, so it makes it more fun and engaging because you have a goal toward something you know.”

The company says this Funtopia expansion plan is part of a broader growth initiative that calls for 50 new locations nationwide over the next several years throughout California, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin, among others.
