Indiana Homeowner Finds Body Under 900-Pound Garage Safe
The Marion Police Department said the homeowner found the body while cleaning garage after suspected break-in.

MARION, IN — The Marion Police Department and the Grant County Coroner are investigating after a man reported finding a body lying underneath an antique floor safe while cleaning his garage at his home in the 600 block of West 3rd Street. According to a release from the police department, homeowner George Hollingsworth said on March 12 he suspected someone had broken into his garage, and that his garage door frame had been damaged. Hollingsworth told police he was going to start cleaning his garage the next day because it was packed with clutter, to see if anything had been stolen, police said.
While cleaning on March 13, police said Hollingsworth discovered his 900-plus pound floor safe that was suspended by a floor jack was knocked over. The man continued to explore, and that's when he found the body, now identified as 28-year-old Jeremiah A. Disney, of Marion, according to police.

The Marion Fire Department was called to the scene to remove the body, police said, adding that an autopsy has since been completed and the results being investigated further.
