Indiana Power Outages, Flights Impacted By Illinois Winter Storm

Why you should double-check your flight's status if you're flying to or from Indianapolis International Airport.

ACROSS INDIANA — Residents in Anderson, Muncie, Fort Wayne, South Bend and several other north and northwest Indiana areas are experiencing power outages Monday after a winter storm went through Illinois and southwest Michigan overnight. As of 11:50 a.m. EST, more than 19,600 Indiana Michigan Power customers were still without electricity.

More than 200 IPL customers in central Indiana were without power at that same time Monday.

Over in Illinois, ComEd was also reporting about 169,000 customers throughout the Chicago area without power early Monday morning due to heavy snow across the state.

Because of the more than 800 flights out of O'Hare and Midway canceled Sunday, and hundreds more canceled or delayed Monday morning, several flights to and from Indianapolis International Airport are being impacted, so make sure to double-check your flight's status.
