Indianapolis Area Expected To Feel Effects Of Hurricane Irma This Week

A look at the weather forecast for the Indianapolis area for the week ahead.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis area will feel the impact of Hurricane Irma over the next couple days, as there's a chance for rain showers late Monday through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. According to NWS, wind gusts and clouds will also be present and increase from the southeast as Hurricane Irma's impact moves northward. Below normal temperatures in the high 60s and low 70s will continue until the weekend, as NWS reports a warm up throughout the weekend.

NWS reports the remnants of Hurricane Irma will initially impact central Indiana on Thursday with rain showers, but will end by Thursday evening.

It should be a dry, warm weekend, as NWS reports the next weather system will move in on Sunday night.
