Indianapolis Colts Week 1 Preview: All Eyes On Luck

With the return of Luck and a new head coach, Colts fans are anticipating Sunday's home opener.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — After going head to head in the last week of preseason, the Indianapolis Colts and the Cincinnati Bengals will open their regular seasons during kickoff at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9 at Lucas Oil Stadium. Colts fans can recall the team's one-point preseason win Aug. 30 against the Bengals, months after a one-point loss to the Bengals halfway through last season.

But what's most important to note is the anticipated return of Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, whose play was limited during preseason after being benched in 2017 due to a shoulder injury. It will also be the first regular season game for the team under new head coach Frank Reich. Note: The last time the Colts opened the season against the Bengals was in 1995. They lost that game, which was also at home, but rebounded to put together one of the most memorable seasons in Indianapolis Colts history. The '95 campaign saw the Cinderella Colts come within one play of the Super Bowl.
