Lucas Oil Stadium Remains NFL's Top Stadium: Report

See why the home of the Indianapolis Colts took the top spot once again on Stadium Journey's list.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — The home of the Indianapolis Colts is once again the National Football League's best stadium. Marc Viquez of Stadium Journey recently published the 2018 NFL Stadium Rankings, putting Lucas Oil Stadium in the top spot out of stadium experiences for 32 teams. According to the Colts, the stadium has been named the NFL's best host for the seventh time in the last eight years.

According to Viquez, "The reviews are based on several categories including: food & beverage in the arena, the overall atmosphere, the neighborhood in which the arena resides, the fans, the access (including traffic, parking, restrooms, and ability to move around in the arena), overall return on investment, and a catchall category for any extras.”

The place the Baltimore Ravens call home, M&T Bank Stadium, was ranked number 2, followed by the Atlanta Falcons’ Mercedes-Benz Stadium at number 3, with the Philadelphia Eagles' Lincoln Financial Field coming in at number 4, and Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, rounding out the top five.

Here's why Lucas Oil Stadium got the top spot, according to Viquez:

"The home of the Indianapolis Colts once again tops our list of NFL venues and is among the sites top overall sports facilities. The stadium offers one of the better settings in the league with its downtown location in close proximity to interstate access. The organization has taken advantage of the setting by creating Touchdown Town outside the venue that house tailgating, concerts, games for kids, and plenty of socializing. The retractable roof opens up to provide a cool breeze of air and an open view of the nearby skyline."
