Parts Of I-465 Closed For Road Work Until This Date
When INDOT said the project is expected to end.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Partial closures are underway on a 10-mile stretch of I-465 between I-70 and I-65 on the city's southwest side. INDOT said crews started an 18-day effort on Sept. 14 to complete pavement and bridge repairs. INDOT said I-465 eastbound will reopen on or before 5 a.m., Sept. 24.
Then, I-465 westbound is expected to be closed at 9 p.m., Sept. 28 and will reopen on or before 5 a.m., Oct. 8.
Therefore, the project will not shutdown the eastbound and westbound part of I-465 at the same time.

Detour routes, according to INDOT:
- I-65 and I-70 will be detour routes for I-465 during the closure.
- Traffic that would normally use I-465 to reach State Road 37 or State Road 67 will be directed to use I-70 to Harding Street (Exit 78).
- Southbound Harding Street will take motorists to State Road 37 or State Road 67 via Kentucky Avenue.
- Traffic that would normally use U.S. 31 should consider I-65 as an alternate route.
- All Hazmat and oversize/overweight vehicles need to use the I-465 detour as there are restrictions through Indianapolis.
INDOT said the closure speeds up the necessary work and eliminates maintaining traffic during the project.
