Several Open Cooling Centers In Marion County
These locations are available to those without air conditioning in extreme heat.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — Summer is here, and temperatures across Marion County are extremely hot. Thankfully, Connect2Help has provided a list of cooling centers available to residents in the event of extreme heat. Look after yourself and loved ones, and always be prepared for dangerous temperatures by finding out which center is closest to you.

WXIN provided a list of cooling centers in Madison County:
- Anderson Public Library – Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. - 111 E. 12th Street, Anderson
- Lapel Branch Library – Monday through Thursday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., 610 Main St., Lapel
- Salvation Army – Monday and Tuesday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - 1615 Meridian Street, Anderson, IN 46016
- St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital – 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., 2015 Jackson St., Anderson. Persons needing help from the heat should enter through the emergency room entrance.
- St. Vincent Mercy Hospital – 1331 South A St., Elwood 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Note: Lobby is open to those who need a place to escape the heat.
