Solar Eclipse: What You'll See In Indianapolis Aug. 21

PLUS: A note of caution from NASA for those planning to watch the Aug. 21 eclipse.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN – If you haven't already heard, there's going to be a total solar eclipse Aug. 21, and Indianapolis will take in part of the show. While Illinois and Kentucky residents will get to see the total solar eclipse, us Indy friends will experience a "partial eclipse," which means the moon comes between the sun and earth, only covering part of the sun's disk, according to NASA. NASA also reports the path of totality is around 70 miles wide, and will cross the U.S. from West to East starting with Lincoln Beach, OR at 9:05 P.D.T. and make its way to IL and KY over the next hour and a half.

While Indianapolis won't experience the path of totality, the partial solar eclipse will still be something to see.

Most importantly, make sure you're protecting your eyes from the direct sun, by knowing which solar eclipse glasses NASA claims are fake, and which ones will work.
