Squared Circle Expo 2020 Update

I continue my coverage leading up to the SCE 2020, a great wrestling convention debuting August 21-21.

When I last reported on the Squared Circle Expo 2020, the organizers had moved the dates to August 21-22. It will still be held at the Wyndham Indianapolis West in Indianapolis, IN. The SCE organizers also explained all of the options for transferring or changing your tickets and reservations. They recently made a few more announcements.

The event floor space layout has been redesigned. Superstar/talent tables will be 6-8 feet apart, as will vendor tables. This will not affect the number of superstar tables, currently set at 40. It will reduce the vendor tables from 68 to 60. Additionally, 150 seats to the live wrestling show will be removed to allow more spacing for the 450 remaining seats. These are small consolations to keep within current guidelines.

All SCE staffers will be wearing masks. It is the choice of the individual attendee regarding wearing a mask.

All of the wrestling guests will still be signing and selling items, as well as posing for pictures. No restrictions are anticipated.

More than 20 wrestling legends have already been announced. The top four on my list are Vicki Guerrero, Francine, Arn Anderson and Christian. I have not met Vicki or Francine and am excited about finally doing so.

While I have previously met Arn, I am excited about seeing him again. Arn is one of my all-time favorites and I think he is vastly underrated. Arn made a career out of being a tag team ace and winning secondary singles titles. He could put on a technical clinic and he could brawl. He could cut a devastating promo, while never raising his voice. Always viewed as a top "right-hand man," Arn might be the best to never win a major singles title.

I met Christian about 20 years ago at a Brian Pillman Memorial show in Ohio. Christian was appearing with Edge, his usual tag team partner. This was early in their careers and both would go on to become legends. From tag team excellence to major success as singles, both Edge and Christian have done it all in wrestling.

The 20 year gap will probably be the biggest gap between meeting a celebrity for me. It's amazing how time flies and how much Christian has changed. He has a great story, working his way up with one of his best friends. He became a star with his friend and followed that with a legendary career on his own in the WWE and elsewhere.

Christian doesn't make many appearances (as obvious from me not seeing him in 20 years). He alone would be worth the trip to Indianapolis. He won't be alone though. He'll be joining dozens of other superstars., making this a "must see" for wrestling fans.

The Squared Circle Expo 2020 is still three months away and more wrestlers will be added. More clarity will also be available as the things start to return to normalcy. As always, the SCE organizers are continually updating the situation and providing info to attendees and fans in general via the Squared Circle Expo Facebook page. Also, as always, I will be updating all here as the situation progresses and we get closer to two days of fun at the Squared Circle Expo.
