Indiana Teen Charged After Making School Threat Via Siri: Police

Police said teen put inquiry with Siri on social media, including his statement, "I am going to shoot up a school," and Siri's response.

VALPARAISO, IN — Local law enforcement are investigating after two Chesterton-area teens are being held on felony intimidation charges stemming from accusations they made threats to Valparaiso schools via Siri and social media, police said, according to the Chicago Tribune. According to police, the threats made Thursday on social media include photo of weapons posted by a 14-year-old boy, and a screenshot posted by a male 13-year-old Chesterton Middle School student, showing his interaction with Siri, the Chicago Tribune said.

According to a Facebook post by Valparaiso police, the 13-year-old shared his inquiry with Siri on social media, which included the statement, “I am going to shoot up a school,” and Siri's response.

Valparaiso police said Chesterton police found out about the younger teen's reported threat thanks to his contacts who saw it, leading the department to contact Valparaiso authorities.
