String Of Thefts, Burglaries In Valparaiso Neighborhood: Police

Valparaiso Police Department officials are investigating several incidents that took place in neighborhood Saturday morning.

VALPARAISO, IN — Valparaiso Police Department officials say they're investigating several thefts from vehicles and several burglaries and thefts of vehicles that happened early Saturday morning in an east side neighborhood. Police said they responded to the 3000 block of Blue Grouse Street, the 2900 block of Sanderling and the 3300 block of Kestrel Street for the reported thefts and burglaries.

According to police patrols have increased and investigations are underway in the areas of six different locations, where incidents include a burglary at a home, burglary at a garage, two vehicles stolen from residents, and three thefts from vehicles.

One of the vehicle thefts was from the garage burglary and another car was later recovered in Lake County.

Police reported some of the items taken included electronic devices, power tools, purses, clothing and entertainment devices.

Police are requesting for information related to these incidents as they continue investigating.
