Valparaiso police investigate threat made by student on one of Valparaiso High School's social media sites.

VALPARAISO, IN — Valparaiso police said they've increased patrols in and around Valparaiso High School as a safety precaution while they investigate a threat made to the school through a school social media site. Police said they were notified by VHS officials of the threat and through investigation were able to identify and arrest a student who confirmed he posted the threatening message, which was to "shoot up the school."

Police said the student faces intimidation charges and disciplinary actions by school officials.

While the threat currently doesn't appear to be creditable, police said they're continuing to investigate.
