Freezing Temps Cause Local School Closings And Delays

No one wants to stand at a bus stop or outdoors when it's this cold, so several schools are delaying start times Jan. 5.

As the freezing temperatures continue across Indiana, there are several school, church and business delays across Indianapolis and Central Indiana for Friday, Jan. 5. Perry Township Schools will be closed Jan. 5 due to the weather, and the school says students will make up this missed day on Monday, Jan. 15 (MLK holiday). School officials say evening activities will continue.

North Lawrence Community Schools and Delphi Community School Corporation also say they'll be operating on a two-hour delay Friday.

Hamilton Southeastern Schools announced just hours ago that all the district's schools will operate on a two-hour delay Friday, and that AM preschool is cancelled. PM preschool will run as normal.
