No Gun Sales For Under 21 At Walmart In Indiana, All U.S. Stores

With nearly 130 Indiana locations, the retailer says it will also stop selling toys that resemble high-powered rifles.

NOBLESVILLE, IN -- Walmart stopped selling AR-15 rifles and other similar "modern sporting rifles" more than two years ago, but in the wake of the school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida, the giant retailer said it will no longer sell guns to anyone under age 21 at stores across the U.S. including nearly 130 Indiana locations, and toys that resemble assault-style rifles including "non-lethal airsoft guns and toys" are being pulled from shelves.

The move came hours after Dick's Sporting Goods, which also has Indiana locations, said it will stop selling AR-15s and will no longer sell firearms to anyone under the age of 21.

Walmart, which also does not sell bump stocks or high-capacity magazines, made the gun sale announcement Wednesday evening. Read more about it on Patch.
