Noblesville West Shooting Suspect's Sept. Trial Date Pushed Back
The trial date for Noblesville West Middle School shooting suspect, accused of shooting a teacher and classmate, has been changed again.

HAMILTON COUNTY, IN — The trial for the teen accused in the May 25 Noblesville West Middle School shootings has once again been pushed back, according to Hamilton County Circuit Court documents. A "fact-finding hearing" in juvenile court for the 13-year-old was scheduled for Sept. 10 and 11, but Hamilton County Circuit Court Judge Paul Felix has pushed the court date back to 9 a.m. Nov. 5, court documents said.
This is the second date change for the accused shooter's trial, as Patch reported it was originally scheduled for June 25 and 26, before being rescheduled to the September dates at the request of the teen's attorney.
According to a court official, trials are usually delayed in cases like this one when there is a lot of evidence involved.

Patch reported at the beginning of June that Hamilton County Prosecutor D. Lee Buckingham announced he filed a petition in juvenile court against the 13-year-old suspect in the shooting, in which he also released the suspect's name, David Moore.

On Friday, May 25, authorities say Moore opened fire inside a classroom at NWMS, shooting seventh-grade teacher Jason Seaman and 13-year-old student Ella Whistler.
Seaman was shot three times as he threw himself into the line of fire, swatting the gun from the shooter's hand. Both Seaman and Whistler have since been released from the hospital, while Whistler's family said earlier this summer that the teen faced a long road to recovery after being shot seven times.
