Severe Storms Damage Homes, Buildings Across Indiana

Several Indiana counties are cleaning up and assessing damage from severe Sunday storms and tornado: Report

Sunday was filled with severe weather for people in Blackford, Delaware and Jay counties, and now their Monday is filled with cleaning up after storms hit the area. Other areas such as Brown County, Monroe County and Indianapolis were hit with tornado warnings and watches Sunday from the National Weather Service, as a tornado-like impact has been reported in Muncie and Portland due to heavy destruction to some homes and buildings.

Fox59 reports Jay County Schools and Blackford County Schools are canceled for the day, as officials have closed some businesses and are taking a look at the debris and damage across the area.

According to the NWS, preliminary findings say an EF-0 tornado with 80 mph winds hit Southern Indiana Sunday, west of Salem.

According to Fox59, the NWS is sending a team to the Jay County area to assess the storm's path and damage.
