Authorities Investigating 1-Year-Old Mishawaka Boy's Death
Metro Homicide officials said they're investigating the death of 1-year-old who lived with two woman, including mom at Mishawaka apartment.

MISHAWAKA, IN — An investigation is underway by St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit officials after a 1-year-old boy died at Hickory Village Apartments in Mishawaka. WNDU reported that according to police, a call was made to authorities around 1:20 a.m. Saturday at the apartment complex, where police found the child unresponsive. According to the news report, the boy was taken to the hospital where he was put on life support, but he died early Saturday afternoon.
There were two woman living in the apartment with the baby boy, as one of the women was his mother.
According to WNDU, Homicide Unit Commander Tim Corbett said they're working with the Department of Child Services and St. Joseph County Special Victims Unit on the case, and search warrants have been issued.

An autopsy is scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 13, WNDU reported.
