City Of South Bend Announces Traffic Restrictions On Jefferson, Colfax Avenue Bridges

The City of South Bend Department of Public Works announces the following traffic restrictions beginning Thursday, March 4. A crane will be placed on each bridge to install anchored signage warning anyone recreating in the St. Joseph River of the dam, both up and downstream.

Lane restrictions will be in place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the designated dates and streets listed below. Both streets will remain open to traffic but will be restricted in the construction zone. Motorists should expect delays.

• Jefferson Bridge from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Niles Avenue – Thursday, March 4
• Colfax Avenue Bridge from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Sycamore Street – Friday, March 5
