April 1, 2021
Beginning Monday, April 5, temporary lane restrictions will be in effect on Sample Street as work begins on the Sheridan and Sample Streets Signal Improvement Project. Work will include shifting and reconstructing the existing curb lines along the south corners of the intersection to improve the turning movement for large vehicles, like semi-trucks. The project also includes new traffic and pedestrian signals, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps and lighting at the intersection.

The intersection will remain open with restrictions during construction with no impact to smaller vehicles turning south onto Sheridan. Eastbound commercial truck traffic wishing to turn south onto Sheridan will be directed to go to the Olive Street roundabout and come back westbound. This will allow them to turn south onto Sheridan at the intersection. The anticipated completion date for this project is the end of June, weather permitting.
