South Bend Schools Superintendent Honored By National Organization For Excellent Communication

Dr. C. Todd Cummings, Superintendent of South Bend Community School Corporation, has been named one of 25 “Superintendents to Watch” nationally by the National Schools Public Relations Association (NSPRA) for “demonstrating dynamic, fast-paced leadership with strong communication at its core.”

Cummings was recognized for his innovative and effective use of communication technology to engage and inform the school community and for expanding two-way communication outreach efforts. Monthly (virtual) community-wide “Talks with Todd,” weekly videos and automated dialers, and Wi-Fi-equipped school buses are some of the innovative communications initiatives implemented under Cummings.

As part of the recognition, Cummings will be featured in an upcoming issue of the NSPRA’s online publication “This Week,” and as a special guest at the NSPRA National Seminar in New Orleans in July 2021.

Cummings formally began his tenure as Superintendent for South Bend Community School in July of 2019.
