TERRE HAUTE, IN — Several Sheriff and Police Departments from across the U.S. and Indiana are honoring Terre Haute Police Officer Rob Pitts, a veteran officer who authorities say was shot in the head and killed on Friday while investigating a homicide. Deputies and staff from local departments including Hamilton County, Marion County and Boone County have reached out to the Terre Haute Police Department following this tragic incident.

Members of the Boone County Sheriff’s Office (see below) attended Officer Rob Pitts' visitation Tuesday afternoon in Terre Haute at ISU Hulman Center, the same place where funeral services for Pitts will take place on Wednesday, May 10.

The public can show support by lowering flags to half-staff until sunset on Wednesday.
