An Indianapolis father and son were sentenced to 71 years in prison for the 2016 robbery and death of an elderly man: Report

INDIANAPOLIS — AP News reports an Indianapolis father and son have each been sentenced to more than 70 years in prison in the 2016 robbery and killing of a man who was found dead in a parking lot with a pillow case over his head and duct tape around his neck. According to AP News, 45-year-old Ziad Abd and 22-year-old Akram Abd learned on Tuesday that they'd be sentenced to 71 years, after being convicted of murder and robbery last month.

This comes nearly two years after 62-year-old Mohamed Mahmoud was killed in April 2016, as AP News reports authorities said his wrists and ankles were bound with duct tape.

An autopsy determined Mahmoud died from asphyxiation.
