Indianapolis Intl. Airport Announces Nonstop Flight To Oakland
Indianapolis International Airport announces new nonstop, year-round Southwest flight beginning July 2018: Report

The Indianapolis International Airport announces what they're calling a "record achievement" Thursday - a new Southwest Airlines' nonstop, year-round flight to Oakland, California. According to the airport this new flight increases IND's nonstop destinations to 49, which is an all-time high for the airport's terminal that opened in 2008. The airport adds this new Oakland flight is Southwest's 21st nonstop destination out of IND, which the airport praises as the most of any airline.
The new nonstop Oakland flight will be offered daily, with year-round service beginning July 15, 2018.
Airport officials report Southwest's Indianapolis operation sells around 40,000 seats weekly, which makes up 34 percent of IND's annual passenger traffic.

Travelers prepare for the warmer months - Southwest increased or extended the number of flights for the June through Aug. 2018 schedule to San Diego, Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, and will launch seasonal nonstop service from Indy to Cancun in March 2018 and to Austin in April 2018.
