Orrego-Savala's Attorney Files Motion To Dismiss Confession
Attorney of man accused of killing Colts player, Uber driver, in drunken-driving crash files motion to toss out on-scene confession: Report

The attorney for Manuel Orrego-Savala, the man accused of killing Indianapolis Colts player Edwin Jackson and his Uber driver Jeffrey Monroe during a drunken-driving crash says he wants Savala's on-scene confession thrown out, IndyStar reports. Jorge Torres, who represents the 37-year-old, filed a motion Tuesday to suppress, IndyStar reports online court records indicate. The attorney argues that statements Orrego-Savala made to authorities at the scene regarding whether he was driving the car aren't valid or acceptable because Orrego-Savala wasn't read his rights before talking with officers, the news report says.
IndyStar says Torres told them there wasn't any advisement of Miranda rights given to his client before asking the direct question of whether or not Orrego-Savala was driving.
