Report Says Columbus Girl Died From Flu Complications
Autopsy determined 7-year-old Savanna Jesse died from flu complications Feb. 1: Report

COLUMBUS, IN -- A Bartholomew County coroner says a Columbus girl died from flu complications Feb. 1, WRTV reports. 7-year-old Savanna Jessie was found unresponsive in her house the morning of Feb. 1 and was rushed to Columbus Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead, WRTV says. According to the news outlet, the coroner said the child was being treated for the flu after testing positive for influenza B, scarlet fever and strep throat.
According to the autopsy, Jessie's cause of death was determined to be "complications of influenza B infection."
WRTV reports the CSA Lincoln Elementary first-grader leaves behind her mother, father and siblings.

There have been at least six flu-related deaths among people ages 0 to 24 in Indiana this flu season.
