Ames Man Pleaded Guilty to Heroin Distribution

An Ames man pleaded guilty to federal heroin distribution charges on May 23, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Jared Michael Bielenberg, 23, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute heroin. Bielenberg helped distribute at least 60 grams of the substance in and around the Ames area from January 2010 to July 2011, according to the release. Bielenberg now faces a five year prison sentence. His sentencing date has been set for Aug. 30.
