Ames Police Chief Candidates To Hold Public Presentations
Justiniano will give his public presentation at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 14.

After a national search, two candidates have been selected as finalists for the Ames Chief of Police. As part of the extensive, two-day interview process, both candidates will prepare a public presentation and answer questions from the audience. Geoff Huff, of Ames, and John Justiniano, of Winchester, Calif., are the top candidates.

Huff has worked for the Ames Police Department since 1994. During that time, he has held various titles, including Police Officer, Corporal, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Commander, and most recently Interim Police Chief. Huff has a bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of Northern Iowa and master’s degree in Criminal Justice from the American Military University. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.
Huff will give a public presentation at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 7, in the Farwell T. Brown Auditorium of the Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave.

John Justiniano had lengthy a career with the U.S. Navy where he achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. He had numerous assignments including Master-at-Arms, Chief Master-at-Arms, and as temporary Senior Enlisted Advisor in the Force Protection Department. After retiring honorably from the U.S. Navy, Justiniano was appointed as Deputy Chief of Police at Detachment Fallbrook, where he has responsibility for leading a police department of 31 officers and staff. Justiniano holds a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Management and a master’s degree in Administration of Justice and Security, both from the University of Phoenix.
Justiniano will give his public presentation at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, June 14, in the Farwell T. Brown Auditorium in the Ames Public Library Ave, 515 Douglas Ave.
