Bike To Work Week Starts May 17 At City Hall In Ames
May is National Bike Month, and National Bike to Work Week is May 17 to 23.

Mayor John Haila and Ames City Council members will kick off National Bike to Work Week by hosting a free Bike Commuter Continental Breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. on Monday, May 17, in front of City Hall, 515 Clark Ave. The event will be held as a physically distanced, outside event where bicyclists may stop by for a quick grab-and-go snack and drink.

May is National Bike Month, and National Bike to Work Week is May 17 to 23. Ames residents are encouraged to bike to work, school, or around their neighborhood. Prior to the start of the week, the annual Mayor and City Council bike ride will be held beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, May 15, in the west parking lot of City Hall, 515 Clark Ave. Participation is free, and no registration is required. Helmets are strongly encouraged.
