City Of Ames Schedule For Holidays

Ames City Hall, 515 Clark Ave., and most City of Ames offices will be closed for the Christmas holiday on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25. Most City of Ames offices will also be closed Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020, in observance of New Year’s Day.

The Community Center and Weight Room will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24, Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020. The facility will be open from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31. Ames Municipal Pool will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1, 2020. The Ames/ISU Ice Arena will be open for public skating from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, and closed on Wednesday, Dec. 25. Public skating will be offered from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020. For more information on hours, visit www.cityofames.org/parkrec

The Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave., will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, Dec. 26. The Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, and closed on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, Jan. 2, 2020. The Bookmobile will be out of service from Monday, Dec. 23, through Friday, Jan. 3, 2020. Bookmobile service will resume Monday, Jan. 6, 2020.

CyRide will be operating fewer trips during the semester break, Saturday, Dec. 21, through Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020. This means shaded trips and routes noted on CyRide’s schedule will not operate during this time. Moonlight Express will not operate beginning on Friday, Dec. 20, through Jan. 12, 2020. In addition, there will be no CyRide service on Wednesday, Dec. 25, or Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.

On Tuesday, Dec. 24, CyRide will operate a Saturday break schedule, with service ending at 6 p.m. On Tuesday, Dec. 31, CyRide will operate a weekday break schedule, with service ending at 6 p.m. Passengers are encouraged to consult CyRide's break schedules at www.cyride.com for the most current information.

Resource Recovery Plant administrative offices will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday, Dec. 24 and 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020. The tipping floor will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25, and Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020. The tipping floor will be open from 6 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Dec. 24.
