Iowa State Animal Scientist to Discuss Food Safety April 25

AMES, Iowa — An Iowa State University professor of animal science will speak April 25 about the importance of food safety at a Science Café event sponsored by the local chapter of Sigma Xi, an international honor society for research scientists and engineers.

Jim Dickson will speak at 6:30 p.m. at Lucullan’s Italian Grill street level location at 400 Main St. in Ames. His presentation, which is open to the public, is titled, Food Safety and Why You Should Care.

"Sometimes those of us who live in North America don't really appreciate the global implications of food safety issues. I hope to give the audience a few things to think about the next time they hear the topic being discussed in the press," Dickson said.

The presentation is free. An optional dinner at 5:30 p.m. will be available for purchase.
