Homewood Golf Course Clubhouse, Closed Holes Slated To Open In Ames

Two holes at Homewood Golf Course that were closed at the beginning of the season to mitigate nearby slope erosion will reopen on Friday, May 7. Homewood Golf Course is a public nine-hole course located at 20th Street and Duff Avenue. With the reopening of Holes 3 and 4, golfers will be able to play the entire course. Additionally, the new Homewood Golf Course Clubhouse will open on Friday for the season.

The public ribbon cutting for the new clubhouse is planned for noon on Monday, May 10. The new clubhouse features a stone fireplace, beautiful views of the golf course, large windows with generous natural light, energy-efficient appliances, and an outdoor patio surrounded by trees. The large community room will be available year-round to rent for social gatherings.

Participants attending the ribbon-cutting event should wear a mask and maintain a distance of at least six feet from others. Those unable to attend may experience the event live through City of Ames Facebook (@CityOfAmes) and YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/AmesChannel12)

The Parks and Recreation Department manages 38 parks and offers approximately 180 athletic, aquatic, instructional, and wellness programs. Indoor programs are provided year-round at the Community Center, Ames/ISU Ice Arena, and Municipal Pool.
