
A fire at a home in the 200 block of Beedle Drive early Saturday caused about $20,000 worth of damage, according to a release from the Ames Fire Department.
Ames firefighters were called to the home about 4:30 a.m. Saturday They found light smoke and fire in an exterior wall near the fireplace. Firefighters were able to extinguish and contain the fire near the chimney before it spread.
No injuries were reported.
